Why BBQ Jointz?

We know that there are lots of BBQ Fanz out there. And there are lots of BBQ Jointz. There's some really good BBQ Jointz out there. And, well, some not so much.

So we thought that we needed to help BBQ Fanz find good BBQ Jointz, and at least know about the not so good ones. And who better to separate the good from the bad than real BBQ Fanz? (That's you!)

So, we've put together a list of BBQ Jointz in the US (we'll be going international soon). At the very least, you can find a BBQ Jointz that is near wherever you are. And then you can help by adding your review of the BBQ Jointz that you visit. BBQ Fanz love to tell others about their favorite places.

What's with the Pig and the Cow?

Pigs and Cows are a big part of BBQ, so they are a big part of BBQ Jointz. Besides, they let us "MOINK".

I get the "Moo" and "Oink", but What's Up with the "MOINK"?

If you combine pig and cow, you get MOINK. And a great and easy BBQ appetizer you can make are "MOINK Balls".

Why is the cow pink? And why does the pig have 'cow spots'?

We're glad you were paying attention. They are just so surprised about the MOINK Balls that their skin changed. (That's our story, and we're sticking with it.)

What the Heck are MOINK Balls?

They are quite simple. You take a pre-cooked all-beef meatball (that's the "Moo") and wrap it with half a strip of bacon (the "OINK"), fasten with a toothpick (or put several on a skewer), season it with your favorite BBQ rub, and smoke it for a couple of hours. Top it off with a Raspberry Chipolte glaze, and you have the delicious appetizer of "MOINK Balls". "Moo" plus "Oink" equals "MOINK".

Where did you get those pictures on the main page?

They are all from our co-conspirator, Larry Gaian (the BBQGrail). You'll find recipes for them on his blog at www.thebbqgrail.com .

Here's a serious question: how do I get my BBQ Jointz as a Priority Site?

"Priority Jointz" have paid a reasonable fee to be listed at the top of any BBQ Jointz search. In addition, they get a random placement in the second box on the left side of all BBQJointz pages. Since there are fewer 'priority' BBQ Jointz, there is a higher likelihood that your priority BBQ Jointz will be displayed in that second box.

How do I correct information about a BBQ Jointz?

That's quite easy (and can get you some Contest pointz). Just use the "Update the Factz" choice on the BBQ Jointz info screen. Or use the Contact Form to let us know of any information that needs to be added or corrected. Make sure that you give as much information as possible, and include your email address so we can contact you. If you are the owner of the BBQ Jointz, let us know that. We aim to keep our response time within one day.

I got a BBQ Jointz Picture. How do I get it on that BBQ Jointz page?

Just find the BBQ Jointz info page, then use the "Upload Picture" link. Make sure that you log on first. Then enter the information, browse to the picture on your computer, then upload. We'll review the picture, and it will be visible (usually within less than a day). Pictures will be displayed in a 150px wide by 120px high box, so fill up the frame. What about abusive or incorrect information?

We review all information when submitted (that includes pictures and reviews) before the information is made public. If we think that the review/picture/whatever is inappropriate or abusive, we will decline to publish it.

That doesn't mean that a negative review will not be published. As long as the reviewer is fair in their information, we will include the review. But we will not accept reviews that are in poor taste (so watch the language, please). Just remember our Terms of Service : "play nice together", and we'll all be happy.

If you think a review is abusive, use the 'report abuse' link that is shown next to the review. Tell us about the problem with the review, and include your email address so we can contact you. Our aim is for our response time to be within one day.
